The
Nottingham City Hospital Kinder Appeal has been in operation
for a number of years - it endeavors to raise funds to take Children
with major kidney defects on holiday for a few days, to places like
Centre Parcs. These children are on constant dialysis and the medical
assistance they need, just to enable them to attend these breaks is
vast, resulting in very high costs for each trip. The few days break
that these Children get, allows them the freedom to enjoy an environment
they would not normally be given the opportunity, it also gives their
parents a well earned rest. The Appeal also provides monies to produce
information and support materials for children and families and encourages
research into the best way to deliver support such as respite care and
home visits. The Appeal has no public funding and has to raise all money
from public donations.
