Bluebell
Wood Children’s Hospice Appeal has been in operation since early
2000, the objective is to build a children's hospice for South Yorkshire
and the North Midlands which will be based at Dinnington. Terminally
ill children will be offered respite and terminal care to suit the needs
of the individual child and their families, without the stresses and
strain that go together with a standard NHS hospital. The children will
be cared for by specially trained staff that will understand each child's
individual needs and therefore offer the necessary support - the aim
is to give the children a relaxed and warm environment, second only
to their own home. Bluebell Wood have to raise 4 million pounds to build
the hospice - all of which must come from public support and donations,
thereafter the annual running costs will be in excess of 1.6 million
pounds - This appeal is desperate for any help that can be given either
through Chesterfield Children’s Charity or independently (see
Bluebell Wood link below).
